We will cross an unexplored area of the Amazon rainforest on foot and in dugout canoes. We have selected a remote area of primary jungle in order to find ecosystems rich in wildlife so that you can live an unforgettable experience in this adventure.
These challenges are designed for teamwork. There are no «tourist» services. All participants will form a team and must strive to collect firewood, catch fish, prepare food, purify water, build shelters, make rafts, and other activities that help us succeed in this challenge.

- Transfer from Iquitos Airport.
- Land and river transportations included in the itinerary.
- Light aircraft from Angamos to Iquitos.
- Slow boat type peke-peke.
- Permit from SERNANP (National Service of Natural Areas Protected by the Peruvian State).
- Permission to the Matsés National Reserve and Native Community.
- Expert indigenous and Amazon Explorer’s tour leader.
- First aid kit, includes antivenom serum.
- Note: Participants must bring their own camping gear.

- The air transportation used for this challenge is subject to the dates established by the Peruvian Air Force. The flight may be postponed due to climatic conditions.
- We suggest having additional days at the end of the itinerary. In the event that the flight is suspended, the days lost can be recovered.
- In the event that the flight used in the expeditions is postponed, Amazon Explorer will not take charge of your stay in the city of Iquitos, nor will you receive any type of refund for the days lost.
- These challenges are extreme and high risky due to the inaccessible terrain and possible encounters whit uncontacted natives.
- This challenge is risky, is open to participants with experience in survival and/or military with great adaptability and excellent physical and mental condition.
- You must arrive in Iquitos a day before the starting date.

ITINERARY
- DAY 1 – 3
- From the city of Iquitos, we motor boat to a river village.
- Meet with a team of natives who will accompany us on this adventure.
- Overnights in a typical house.
- DAY 4 – 10
- Start the 30 km trek until we find the head of the Gálvez River.
- Overnights in the jungle.
- DAY 11 – 32
- Penetrate deep into the virgin forest.
- Build shelters in different areas.
- Make dugout canoes.
- Down river in our canoes (170 km).
- Continue on foot where navigation is not possible.
- Orient ourselves by natural means.
- Use a map and compass for land navigation.
- Trek for days through virgin forest.
- Cross rivers, streams and swamps (aguajales).
- Look for food and water.
- Use the lianas (Soga de Agua) for drinking.
- Identify animal footprints and tracks.
- Build animal traps to feed ourselves.
- Improvise fishing rods.
- Make campfires.
- Use natural resources to our benefit.
- Build individual rafts and floatation devices to go down rivers.
- Spend the nights deep in the jungle.
- Catch and collect food to survive.
- DAY 33
- Arrive at a native community.
- Overnight in a typical, native, community house.
- DAY 34
- Motor boat to the village of Angamos.
- Overnight in a hotel.
- DAY 35
- Return by plane to Iquitos.
